Batam, 22 June 2023 — Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is a program initiated by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture. The program aims to encourage students to acquire a diverse range of knowledge as a foundation for their future careers. To enhance the implementation of this program, universities have taken the initiative to conduct Partnership Development Visits to Prospective MBKM Partners. These visits typically involve exploring potential partnerships with institutions or organizations.
On 21 June 2023, the UVERS Faculty of Business visited Universitas Pelita Harapan. The meeting was attended by Dr. Didi Sundiman, S.T., M.M. (Dean of UVERS Faculty of Business) and Mochammad Nugraha Reza Pradana, S.E, M.M. (UVERS Management Study Program Coordinator), also the Universitas Pelita Harapan’ Faculty of Business team, including Vina C. Nugroho (Head of Management Study Program), Liza Handoko (Vice Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business), and Prof. Sabrina O. Sihombing (Chair of Ethics Committee of Faculty of Economics and Business). During this meeting, UVERS Faculty of Business discussed and observed the implementation of MBKM at the Universitas Pelita Harapan. The discussion revealed that Universitas Pelita Harapan’s business incubator plays a crucial role in supporting students’ entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, the incubator hosts regular business competitions to foster students’ interest in entrepreneurship.
In addition to gaining experience in best practices and receiving input on updating the MBKM curriculum in the UVERS management department, both parties of the university established a co-operation. At the end of the meeting, Universitas Universal and Universitas Pelita Harapan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to evidence and realise cooperation between the two universities.
